2. The Community Rehabilitation Companies listed in the Schedule to this Order and the National Probation Service(1), being persons appearing to the Secretaries of States to be exercising functions of a public nature, are public bodies for the purposes of section 1 of the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) Act 1970, in its application to England.
The National Probation Service is a business unit of the National Offender Management Service (an Executive Agency of the Ministry of Justice).
