(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Deregulation Act 2015 (Commencement No.1 and Transitional and Saving Provisions) Order 2015 (S.I. 2015/994) (C.69) which brings the majority of the provisions of the Act into force.
This Order inserts an additional transitional provision so that the amendments made by section 9 of, and Schedule 3 to, the Act in respect of sections 151 and 152 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 (c.52) only apply to policies or securities that are cancelled on or after 30th June 2015. This distinction affects the circumstances in which insurers can rely on section 152 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, in relation to their duty to satisfy judgments against persons insured or secured against third party risks under section 151 of the Road Traffic Act 1988.
