I1Sch. 17 para. 4 in force at 4.1.2022, see reg. 1(2)
Regulation (EC) 437/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 February 2003 on statistical returns in respect of the carriage of passengers, freight and mail by air (“the Statistical Returns Regulation”) placed an obligation on EU Member States to collect specified aviation statistical data. In practice, this data was collected by the CAA on behalf of the UK. The Statistical Returns Regulation is now EU retained law (EUR 2003/437as amended by SI 2019/646). The Aviation Statistics (Amendment Etc.) EU Exit Regulations 2019, (SI 2019/646) now requires airport operators to provide statistical data to the CAA and obliges the CAA to collect that data. The UK Airports Annual Statements of Movements, Passengers and Cargo 2018 can be found at: https://www.caa.co.uk/Data-and-analysis/UK-aviation-market/Airports/Datasets/UK-Airport-data/Airport-data-2018/.
