Article 27U.K.Restrictions on fishing for Norway pout to protect other roundfish
1.The retention on board of Norway pout which are caught with any towed gear in the area which is bounded by a line joining the following points shall be prohibited:
a point at 56o N on the east coast of the United Kingdom as far as 2o E,
the running north to 58o N, west to 0o 30′ W, north to 59o 15′ N, east to 1o E, north to 60o N, west to longitude 0o 00′;
from there north to 60o 30′ N, west to the coast of the Shetland Isles, then west from 60o N on the west coast of the Shetlands to 3o W, south to 58o 30′ N,
and finally west to the coast of the United Kingdom.
2.However, vessels may retain on board quantities of Norway pout from the area and caught with the gear described in paragraph 1, provided they do not exceed 5 % of the total weight of the marine organisms on board which have been caught in the said area with the said gear.
[F13. Where Norway pout is subject to the landing obligation set out in Article 15 of Regulation (EU) No 1380/2013, paragraph 1 of this Article shall not apply.
Fishing for Norway pout within the geographical area referred to in paragraph 1 shall be prohibited when using a towed gear with a mesh size of less than 32 mm.]
