1.[F1The relevant GB competent authorities] shall take appropriate measures to prevent unintentional transboundary movements of GMOs.
2.As soon as [F2the GB focal point becomes aware of an occurrence within Great Britain] resulting in a release of GMOs that leads, or may lead, to an unintentional transboundary movement that is likely to have significant adverse effects on the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity, taking into account risks to human health, [F3the GB focal point] shall:
(a)take the appropriate measures to inform the public and inform without delay F4... affected or potentially affected States, the BCH, and, where appropriate, relevant international organisations;
(b)without delay consult the affected or potentially affected States to enable them to determine appropriate responses and initiate necessary action, including emergency measures in order to minimise any significant adverse effects.
3.Any information arising from paragraph 2 shall include the information specified in Annex III.
