CHAPTER I U.K. SCOPE AND DEFINITIONS

Article 2 U.K. Definitions

For the purpose of this Regulation the following definitions shall apply:

(a)

ICES and CECAF zones are as defined in Council Regulation (EEC) No 3880/91 of 17 December 1991 on the submission of nominal catch statistics by Member States fishing in the Northeast Atlantic(1);

(b)

‘fishing effort’ means the product of the capacity and the activity of a fishing vessel; for a group of vessels it means the sum of fishing effort exerted by each vessel of the group.
