Without prejudice to Article 51(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1698/2005, ‘Cross-compliance’ shall mean the mandatory requirements referred to in the first subparagraph of Article 51(1) of that Regulation and the minimum requirements for fertiliser and plant protection product use referred to in the second subparagraph of Article 51(1) of that Regulation.

Articles 4(2) and 22 of Regulation (EC) No 73/2009 and Article 2(2), (2a) and (31) to (36) and Articles 41, 42, 43, 46, 47 and 48 of Regulation (EC) No 796/2004 shall apply with regard to controls of cross-compliance.
