CHAPTER ISUBJECT MATTER, SCOPE AND DEFINITIONS
Article 2Scope

This Regulation shall apply to vehicles of categories M1, M2, N1 and N2 as defined in Annex II to Directive 70/156/EEC with a reference mass not exceeding 2 610 kg.

At the manufacturer's request, type approval granted under this Regulation may be extended from vehicles covered by paragraph 1 to M1, M2, N1 and N2 vehicles as defined in Annex II to Directive 70/156/EEC with a reference mass not exceeding 2 840 kg and which meet the conditions laid down in this Regulation and its implementing measures.
