CHAPTER VACCOMPANYING MEASURES

Article 21Logo

A logo shall be introduced with a view to improving awareness and the consumption of quality agricultural products, whether processed or not, specific to the outermost regions.

The conditions for using the logo referred to in paragraph 1 shall be proposed by the trade organisations concerned. The national authorities shall forward such proposals, with their opinion thereon, to the Commission.

Use of the logo shall be monitored by a public authority or a body approved by the competent national authorities.

The Commission shall be empowered to adopt delegated acts, in accordance with Article 33, regarding the conditions for exercising the right to use the logo and for reproducing and using it. Those conditions shall be set to improve awareness of high-quality agricultural products from the outermost regions and to increase the consumption thereof, regardless of whether those products are processed or non-processed.

The Commission shall adopt implementing acts regarding the detailed rules concerning the use of the logo and the minimum characteristics for the checks and monitoring which the Member States shall perform. Those implementing acts shall be adopted in accordance with the examination procedure referred to in Article 34(2).
