ANNEX IIB Fishing opportunities for vessels fishing for sandeel in ICES divisions IIa, IIIa AND ICES subarea IV

1. The conditions laid down in this Annex shall apply to EU vessels fishing in EU waters of ICES divisions IIa, IIIa and ICES subarea IV with demersal trawl, seine or similar towed gears with a mesh size of less than 16 mm.

2. The conditions laid down in this Annex shall apply to third-country vessels authorised to fish for sandeel in EU waters of ICES subarea IV unless otherwise specified, or as a consequence of consultations between the Union and Norway as set out in the Agreed Record of conclusions between the Union and Norway.

3. For the purposes of this Annex, sandeel management areas shall be as shown below and in the Appendix to this Annex:

4. Commercial fishing with demersal trawl, seine or similar towed gears with a mesh size of less than 16 mm shall be prohibited from 1 January to 31 March 2013 and from 1 August to 31 December 2013.
