ANNEX VIU.K. Measurements and calculations for condensing units

1.For the purposes of compliance and verification of compliance with the requirements of this Regulation, measurements and calculations shall be made using harmonised standards the reference numbers of which have been published for that purpose in the Official Journal of the European Union, or using other reliable, accurate and reproducible methods that take into account the generally recognised state-of-the-art methods. They shall meet the conditions and technical parameters set out in point 2.U.K.

2.For establishing the values of cooling capacity, power input, coefficient of performance and seasonal energy performance ratio, measurements shall be made under the following conditions:U.K.

(a)

the reference ambient temperature at the outdoor heat exchanger (condenser) shall be 32 °C;

(b)

the saturated evaporating temperature at the indoor heat exchanger (evaporator) shall be – 35 °C for low temperature and – 10 °C for medium temperature;

(c)

where applicable, the variations of ambient temperature throughout the year, representative of average climate conditions in the Union, and the corresponding number of hours when these temperatures occur, shall be as set out in Table 6;

(d)

where applicable, the effect of the degradation of energy efficiency caused by cycling, depending on the type of capacity control of the condensing unit, shall be taken into account.
