Article 61Withdrawal of approvals for, and re-designation of, existing border control entities

1.The approval of border inspection posts in accordance with Article 6 of Directive 97/78/EC and Article 6 of Directive 91/496/EEC, the designation of points of entry in accordance with Article 5 of Regulation (EC) No 669/2009 and with Article 13c(4) of Directive 2000/29/EC and the designation of first points of introduction in accordance with Article 5 of Commission Regulation (EU) No 284/2011(1) shall be withdrawn.

2.Member States may re-designate border inspection posts, designated points of entry, points of entry and first points of introduction referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article as border control posts in accordance with Article 59(1) provided that the minimum requirements referred to in Article 64 are complied with.

3.Article 59(2), (3) and (5) shall not apply to the re-designation referred to in paragraph 2 of this Article.
