2.—(1) The day appointed for the coming into operation of—
(a)Article 50 (extension of entitlement to state maternity allowance)—
(i)for the purpose only of the exercise of any power to make regulations, is 12th January 2000;
(ii)for all other purposes, is 2nd April 2000;
(b)for the purposes of cases to which Article 50 applies, Part VI of Schedule 8 (maternity allowance) and Article 67 in so far as it relates to that Part—
(i)for the purpose only of the exercise of any power to make regulations, is 12th January 2000;
(ii)for all other purposes, is 2nd April 2000; and
(c)for the purposes of cases to which Article 50 applies, the entries in Part V of Schedule 10 (repeals) relating to—
(i)section 21 of, and Schedule 3 and 4 to, the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992(1);
(ii)the Maternity Allowance and Statutory Maternity Pay Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1994(2),
and Article 76 in so far as it relates to them, is 2nd April 2000.
(2) The day appointed for the coming into operation of—
(a)Article 58 (incapacity for work: personal capability assessments), paragraph 22(3) of Schedule 8 (requirement to have a medical examination), in so far as those provisions are not already in operation, and paragraph 23 of Schedule 8 (own occupation test) and Article 67 in so far as it relates to those paragraphs, is 3rd April 2000;
(b)paragraph 22(1), (2) and (4) of Schedule 8 (test of incapacity for work), in so far as not already in operation, and Article 67 in so far as it relates to that paragraph, is 16th December 1999.
(3) The day appointed for the coming into operation of Article 63 (attendance allowance) and Article 64(1) and (2) (disability living allowance) is 12th January 2000.
