5.—(1) The Plant Health (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020(1) are amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 52 (transitional provision: plants, plant products and other objects from EU Member States)—
(a)in paragraph (1)—
(i)in sub-paragraph (a) for “period commencing on IP completion day and ending on 31st December 2021” substitute “transitional staging period”,
(ii)in sub-paragraph (b) for “during the period commencing on 26th November 2021 and ending on 31st December 2021” substitute “after 25 November 2021 and before the end of the transitional staging period”,
(b)after paragraph (3) insert—
“(4) In paragraph (1), “the transitional staging period” has the meaning given in paragraph 2 (interpretation) of Annex 6 to Regulation (EU) 2017/625 of the European Parliament and of the Council on official controls and other official activities performed to ensure the application of food and feed law, rules on animal health and welfare, plant health and plant protection products(2).”.
