(1)In section 36 of the M1Children and Young Persons Act 1933 (child not to be present at criminal trial except where required as witness or otherwise for the purposes of justice), after “justice” insert “ or while the court consents to his presence ”.

(2)In section 50(1) of the M2Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 (child not to be present at criminal proceedings unless required as witness or otherwise for the purposes of justice), after “justice” insert “ or the court consents to his presence ”.
