4. In Schedule 3—
(a)in paragraph 9, for “items numbered 7, 7A and 7C” substitute “items numbered 7, 7A, 7C and 50”;
(b)at the end of paragraph 11, add “The markings relating to items 37B and 37C apply only as regards mopeds (as defined in Regulation 3(1) of the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1971) and motor cycles.”;
(c)in paragraph 17, for “the marking prescribed at item No. 44” substitute “the markings prescribed at items No. 44 and 44A”; and
(d)after paragraph 17, add the following new paragraphs—
“18. In relation to the marking prescribed at item 50, “11” shall appear above the circle where the direction indicator is fitted to the front of the vehicle, “12” shall appear above the circle where the direction indicator is fitted to the rear of the vehicle and “31” shall appear above the circle where the direction indicator is fitted to the side of the vehicle. In the case of a direction indicator which does not on one side attain the minimum luminous intensity prescribed up to a minimum horizontal angle for spacial light distribution H=80° (according to paragraph 7.7.1 of, and Annex 1 to ECE Regulation 50), a horizontal arrow shall appear, the tip of which is oriented to the side where the minimum luminous intensity according to the said paragraph 7.7.1. is complied with up to an angle of at least 80°.
19. In relation to the marking prescribed at item 50A, the letter “M” shall appear on a lamp being a rear position lamp for a moped that has a minimum value of 2 cd.”.
