7. Where an individual was appointed to act as an insolvency practitioner in relation to a building society within the meaning of the Building Societies Act 1986 before the commencement of subsection 211(2)(a) of the Companies Act 1989, the application of subsections (2) and (3) of section 390 of the Insolvency Act 1986(1) effected by the amendments made by subsection 211(2)(a) shall not prevent that individual from being qualified to act as an insolvency practitioner pursuant to that appointment for the purposes of Part XIII of the Insolvency Act 1986.
