2.—(1) Section 162(2) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, insofar as it relates to the repeal of the Alkali, &c. Works Regulation Act 1906(1) (“the 1906 Act”) in Part I of Schedule 16, shall come into force, for the purposes of the application of the 1906 Act to activities which fall within a description of a process which has been but has ceased to be a prescribed process—
(a)on 1st December 1994; or, if later,
(b)on the date on which that description of process ceases to be a prescribed process.
(2) In this article “prescribed process” has the meaning given in section 1 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
