2.—(1) 1st September 1996 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act—
(a)section 7(2) (extent), so far as it relates to the provisions of the Act referred to in sub-paragraph (b);
(b)in the Schedule (supplementary and consequential amendments of the 1983 Act), paragraph 1 so far as it relates to paragraph 14, and paragraph 14; and section 4 so far as it relates to those paragraphs.
(2) 1st September 1996 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act, for the purpose of enabling the GMC in accordance with rules to determine the membership of its statutory committees(1) as from 1st January 1997—
(a)section 7(2) (extent), so far as it relates to the provisions of the Act referred to in sub-paragraph (b);
(b)in the Schedule (supplementary and consequential amendments of the 1983 Act), paragraph 1 so far as it relates to paragraph 12, and paragraph 12; and section 4 so far as it relates to those paragraphs.
(3) 1st January 1997 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act—
(a)section 7(2) (extent), so far as it relates to the provisions of the Act referred to in sub-paragraph (b);
(b)in the Schedule (supplementary and consequential amendments of the 1983 Act), paragraph 1 so far as it relates to the other provisions of the Schedule brought into force by this sub-paragraph, paragraph 2, paragraph 12 so far as not already in force, and paragraph 13; and section 4 so far as it relates to those paragraphs.
