The Scotland Act 1998 (Consequential Modifications) (No.1) Order 1999

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Scotland Act 1998 (Consequential Modifications) (No.1) Order 1999.

(2) This Order shall come into force as follows:–

(a) articles 1 to 3 shall come into force on 6th May 1999;

(b) article 4 shall come into force on the date of coming into force of section 44(1)(c) of the 1998 Act(1); and

(c) article 5 shall come into force on the principal appointed day(2).

(3) In this Order, “the 1998 Act” means the Scotland Act 1998.

In terms of Article 2(2) of and Schedule 4 to the Scotland Act 1998 (Commencement) Order 1998 (S.I. 1998/3178), section 44(1)(c) comes into force on 20th May 1999.

Article 3 of the Scotland Act 1998 (Commencement) Order 1998 specifies 1st July 1999 as the principal appointed day for the purposes of the 1998 Act.
