2. In Part II of Schedule 1 to the Judicial Pensions and Retirement Act 1993 (offices which may be qualifying judicial offices for the purposes of Part I of the Act) there shall be added at the end of the entry headed “Other officers whose holders are appointed by the Lord Chancellor” the following offices–
“Member of a panel constituted under section 6(1) of the Social Security Act 1998(1) who–
(a)is appointed to serve full-time as a member of that panel; and
(b)either–
(i)has a general qualification (construed in accordance with section 71 of the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990(2)); or
(ii)is an advocate or solicitor in Scotland
Member of a panel constituted under Article 7(1) of the Social Security (Northern Ireland) Order 1998(3) who–
(a)is appointed to serve full-time as a member of that panel; and
(b)is a barrister or solicitor”.
