Modification of section 276 of the Education Act 1996
2. With effect from 1st April 1999, section 276 of the Education Act 1996(1) shall have effect as if each reference in that provision to the funding authority were a reference to the Secretary of State.

1996 c. 56. Section 276 applies in relation to the governing body of a grant-maintained special school in liquidation by virtue of regulation 33 of the Education (Grant-maintained Special Schools) Regulations 1994 (S.I. 1994/653).
