2. The following provisions of the Food Standards Act 1999 shall come into force on 11th January 2000—
(a)sections 1(1) (Food Standards Agency), 2 (appointment of members), 3(1) to (3) (appointment of chief executive), 36(2) (interpretation), 41 (transfer schemes) and 42 (transition);
(b)in so far as they relate to Wales and Scotland, section 3(4) and (5) (appointment of directors), section 5(1) and paragraphs 1, 5 and 6 of Schedule 2 (advisory committees);
(c)section 3(6) (holding of office) in so far as—
(i)it is concerned with the chief executive, and
(ii)it is concerned with directors and relates to Wales and Scotland;
(d)for the purpose of introducing those provisions of Schedule 2 which are brought into force by this Order, section 5(4);
(e)in so far as it relates to the definitions of the terms “Agency” and “appropriate authorities”, section 36(1); and
(f)Schedule 1 (constitution of the Agency).
