The Armed Forces Act 2001 (Commencement No.1) Order 2001

2.  Subject to article 3 of this Order, the following provisions of the Armed Forces Act 2001 (“the Act”) shall come into force on 1st October 2001—

• section 34 so far as is necessary to bring into force Schedule 6 to the extent specified below;

• section 38 so far as is necessary to bring into force Schedule 7 to the extent specified below;

• Parts 1, 2 and 3 of Schedule 6;

• Part 6 of Schedule 6, except paragraphs 41, 42, 50(1) (in so far as it relates to paragraph 50(2)), 50(2), 55, 56 and 59;

• Part 3 of Schedule 7;

(so far as not already in force) Part 7 of Schedule 7, except the repeal in section 12A(1) of the Naval Discipline Act 1957(1) and the repeals in section 42 of the Courts-Martial (Appeals) Act 1968(2).
