2.—(1) The Channel Tunnel (Miscellaneous Provisions) Order 1994(1) is amended as follows.
(2) In article 3 (application of tripartite articles)(2) at the beginning of paragraphs (2) and (3) insert “Subject to paragraph (4),” and after paragraph (3) insert—
“(4) Nothing in this article implies the existence of a control zone in the station of London-Waterloo on British Territory.”.
(3) In article 4 (application of enactments) after paragraph (1) insert—
“(1A) The Race Relations Act 1976(3) shall apply to the carrying out by immigration officers of their functions in a control zone outside the United Kingdom as it applies to the carrying out of their functions within the United Kingdom.”
(4) Article 7 (enactments modified)(4) becomes paragraph (1) of article 7 and at the end insert—
“(2) Nothing in paragraph (1)(b) implies the existence of a control zone in the station of London-Waterloo on British Territory.”.
(5) In Schedule 1 (expressions defined)(5) at the end of the definition of “control zone” insert “but excluding the station of London-Waterloo on British territory”.
