6. The coming into force of sections 17 and 18 of the 2009 Act is of no effect in relation to any person as regards an offence committed by that person contrary to section 1 (loitering or soliciting for purposes of prostitution) of the Street Offences Act 1959(1) during a period which falls wholly or partly before 1st April 2010.
Section 1 of the Street Offences Act 1959 (c. 57) has been amended by section 56 of, and Schedule 1 to, the Sexual Offences Act 2003 (c. 42), section 71 of the Criminal Justice Act 1982 (c. 48), the Statute Law (Repeals) Act 1989 (c. 43), section 111 and 174 of, and Schedule 7 and 17 to, the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 (c. 15) and the Statute Law (Repeals) Act 1993 (c. 50).
