Application of the Representation of the People (Combination of Polls) (England and Wales) Regulations 2004 to police and crime commissioner elections

2.—(1) The amendments made by the 2015 Regulations to the 2004 Regulations have effect in relation to a PCC election as they have effect in relation to an election or referendum within paragraphs (a) to (d) of the definition of “relevant election or referendum” in paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the 2004 Regulations.

(2) Accordingly, the amendments made by the Police and Crime Commissioner Elections Order 2012(1) to the 2004 Regulations have effect in relation to those Regulations as amended by the 2015 Regulations.

(3) In this article—

(a)“the 2004 Regulations” means the Representation of the People (Combination of Polls) (England and Wales) Regulations 2004(2);

(b)“the 2015 Regulations” means the Representation of the People (Combination of Polls) (England and Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2015(3);

(c)“PCC election” means an election of a police and crime commissioner in accordance with Chapter 6 of Part 1 of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011.

S.I. 2004/294, as amended by S.I. 2006/3278, S.I. 2012/1917 and S.I. 2014/920. The amendments made by S.I. 2014/921 apply to police and crime commissioner elections by virtue of article 3 of S.I. 2014/921.
