2.—(1) The Education (School Teachers’ Qualifications) (England) Regulations 2003(1) are amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 3 (interpretation)—
(a)after the definition of “the Council” insert
““early years provider” has the meaning given by section 96(3) of the Childcare Act 2006(2);”;
(b)omit the definition of “institution”.
(3) In Part 1 of Schedule 2 (qualified teacher status requirements)—
(a)in paragraphs 7(1)(c)(i) and 10(3), for “institution” substitute “educational institution or early years provider”;
(b)in paragraph 11(3)(c), for “an institution” substitute “a further education institution or an institution within the higher education sector”;
(c)in paragraph 11(4)(c)—
(i)omit “, institution”;
(ii)for “establishment” substitute “institution or early years provider”.
