2.—(1) The following sections of the Act expire on the day after the day on which these Regulations come into force—
(a)section 8 (and Schedule 7)(1);
(b)section 9;
(c)section 24;
(d)sections 25 to 27;
(e)section 28 (and Schedule 15);
(f)section 29;
(g)section 71.
(2) Paragraph (1)(c) does not affect the continued operation of the Coronavirus (Retention of Fingerprints and DNA Profiles in the Interests of National Security) (No. 2) Regulations 2020(2).
The expiry of section 8 (and Schedule 7) takes effect subject to section 89(2)(n) which provides that Parts 2 to 5 of Schedule 7, and section 8 so far as relating to those Parts, will not expire.
