3.—(1) Schedule 1 to the Northern Ireland Assembly (Elections) Order 2001 (application and modification of provisions of primary legislation relating to elections)(1) is amended as follows.
(2) In the table, in the entry for rule 37 of Schedule 1 to the Representation of the People Act 1983 (parliamentary elections rules)(2), for the entry modifying paragraph (1E)(b) substitute “In paragraph (1E)(b) for “by the Government of the Republic of Ireland” substitute “of a member State(3)”.”.

1983 c. 2; rule 37 as it extends to Northern Ireland was amended by sections 1 and 2 of the Elections (Northern Ireland) Act 1985 (c. 2), sections 2 and 4 of the Electoral Fraud (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (c. 13), paragraphs 75 and 90 of Schedule 1 to the Electoral Administration Act 2006 (c. 22), paragraph 6 of Schedule 4 to the Northern Ireland (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2006 (c. 33) and section 19 of the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013 (c. 6) and S.I. 1986/1091, 2001/400, 2002/1873, 2003/1156, 2008/1741 and 2010/278.
