34.Er mwyn galluogi’r Comisiynydd i ymchwilio i gwynion yn drwyadl, mae angen i’r rheini a fydd yn rhoi gwybodaeth i’r Comisiynydd mewn perthynas ag ymchwiliad gael eu diogelu rhag hawliadau am ddifenwi mewn perthynas â’r wybodaeth honno. Mae adran 17 yn darparu’r diogelwch hwn. Byddai datgelu diawdurdod gan y Comisiynydd (neu gan y rhai sy’n gweithio i’r Comisiynydd), yn groes i adran 16, yn golygu y byddai’r datgelwr yn colli’r diogelwch hwn.
