Section 20: Guidance as to compensation for victims
Section 20 requires the Department of Justice to issue guidance setting out the procedures to be followed by a person who has received a positive conclusive determination that that they are a victim of human trafficking, to enable them to apply for compensation under the Criminal Injuries (Compensation) (Northern Ireland) Order 2002. The guidance will also set out the grounds on which compensation may be awarded under that Order and the arrangements available to assist and support such a person in applying for compensation.
