1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Direct Payments to Farmers (Simplifications) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2022 and come into operation on the day following the day on which they are made.
(2) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954(1) shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Assembly.
(3) In these Regulations —
“the Direct Payments Regulation” means Regulation (EU) No 1307/2013 of 17 December 2013 establishing rules for direct payments to farmers under support schemes within the framework of the common agricultural policy and repealing Council Regulation (EC) No 637/2008 and Council Regulation (EC) No 73/2009(2).
EUR 2013/1307, as amended by S.I. 2020/91, 576, and 760; S.R. 2021 No. 40 and 42; and by section 5 of the Direct Payments to Farmers (Legislative Continuity) Act 2020 (c. 2.). This Regulation was incorporated into domestic law by section 1 of that Act.
