False written statements tendered in evidence in courts-martialN.I.

5.—(1) Any person who in a written statement tendered in evidence in proceedings before a court-martial by virtue of section 9 of the Criminal Justice Act 1967 [1967 c.80] as extended by section 12 of that Act or by section 99A of the Army Act 1955 [1955 c.18 (3&4 Eliz.2)] or section 99A of the Air Force Act 1955 [1955 c.19 (3&4 Eliz.2)] wilfully makes a statement material in those proceedings which he knows to be false, or does not believe to be true, shall be guilty of an offence.

(2) A person guilty of an offence under paragraph (1) shall be liable on conviction on indictment to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years, or to a fine, or to both.

(3) Paragraph (1) is without prejudice to Article 3, and applies whether the written statement is made in Northern Ireland or elsewhere.
