2.—(1) The [1954 c. 33 (N.I.)] Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 shall apply to Article 1 and the following provisions of this Order as it applies to a Measure of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

“the principal Act” means the [1975 c. 15] Social Security (Northern Ireland) Act 1975;

“rate rebate”, “rent rebate” and “rent allowance” shall be construed in accordance with Article 29;
“rates” has the same meaning as in the [1977 NI 28] Rates (Northern Ireland) Order 1977;
“regulations” means regulations made by the Department under this Order;

“statutory provision” has the meaning assigned to it by section 1(f) of the [1954 c. 33 (N.I.)] Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954;
