The Social Security (Incapacity Benefit) (Transitional) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1.—(1) These regulations maybe cited as the Social Security (Incapacity Benefit) (Transitional) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995 and shall come into operation on 13th April 1995.

(2) In these regulations—

“the Administration Act” means the Social Security Administration (Northern Ireland) Act 1992(1);

“the Contributions and Benefits Act” means the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992(2);

“the Order” means the Social Security Incapacity for Work) (Northern Ireland) Order 1994;

“the appointed day” means 13th April 1995;

“the Claims and Payments Regulations” means the Social Security (Claims and Payments) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1987(3);

“the Increases for Dependants Regulations” means the Social Security (Incapacity Benefit — Increases for Dependants) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1994(4);

“pensionable age” means—

(a)

the age of 65, in the case of a man; and

(b)

the age of 60, in the case of a woman;

“the Unemployment, Sickness and Invalidity Benefit Regulations” means the Social Security (Unemployment, Sickness and Invalidity Benefit) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1984(5).

(3) In these regulations, any reference to a numbered section or Schedule is to the section of, or, the Schedule to, the Contributions and Benefits Act bearing that number.
