This order may be cited as the Health and Personal Social Services (Amendment) (1995 Order) (Commencement No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996.
Appointed day2.
The day appointed for the coming into operation of Articles 3 and 4 of the Health and Personal Social Services (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1995 for all remaining purposes shall be 29th March 1996.

This order brings into operation on 29th March 1996 all the remaining provisions of the Health and Personal Social Services (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1995, which amends the Health and Personal Social Services (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 (“the 1972 Order”) so far as they are not already in operation.
The provisions brought into operation relate to powers of the Tribunal in relation to opticians, ophthalmic medical practitioners and pharmacists—
to direct the interim suspension of practitioners providing family health services under the 1972 Order, and
to declare when disqualifying them from inclusion in any list of such practitioners kept in Northern Ireland, that they are not fit to be engaged in any capacity in the provision of those services.
