These Regulations, which come into operation on 10th June 1996 and have effect retrospectively from 1st September 1995 revoke and replace, with amendments, the Students Awards Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995 (“the previous Regulations”).

The Department of Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 50(1) and (2) and 134(1)1 of the Education and Libraries (Northern Ireland) Order 19862 and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
