SOCIAL SECURITY

These Regulations regulate the procedure of the Social Security Commissioners in determining claims and questions arising from decisions of the unified appeals tribunals established under Article 8 of the Social Security (Northern Ireland) Order 1998. These Regulations also prescribe the procedure to be followed in the case of a reference made under the Forfeiture (Northern Ireland) Order 1982. These Regulations revoke the Social Security Commissioners (Procedure) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1987 and amending instruments.

Procedure on linked case notice from the Department21

Any notice from the Department to a Commissioner under Article 26 of the Order (Appeal involving issues that arise on appeal in other cases) shall be sent in writing and shall identify each appeal or application to which it relates.
