Citation, commencement and interpretation
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Rates (Regional Rates) Order(Northern Ireland) 1999 and shall come into operation on I st April 1999.
(2) In this Order—
“specified hereditament” means a hereditament of a type specified under Article 3 of the New Valuation List (Time and Class of Hereditaments)Order (Northern Ireland) 1995(1); and
“unspecified hereditament” means a hereditament which is not a specified hereditament.
Regional rate
2. The regional rate for the year ending 31st March 2000 shall be 28.15 pence in the pound in respect of specified hereditaments and 178.53 pence in the pound in respect of unspecified hereditaments.
Reduction of regional rate on dwellings
3. The amount by which the normal regional rate fixed for the year ending 31st March 2000 under Article 2 is to be reduced in respect of unspecified hereditarnents for the purposes of paragraphs (2) and (3) of Article 27 of the Rates (Northern Ireland) Order 1977 shall be 71.4 pence.
