1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Statutory Maternity Pay (General) (Modification and Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000 and shall come into operation on 17th November 2000.
(2) In these Regulations—
“the Contributions and Benefits Act” means the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992;
“the Statutory Maternity Pay Regulations” means the Statutory Maternity Pay (General) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1987(1).
(3) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954(2) shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Assembly.
