ROAD TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES
Public Service Vehicles (Amendment No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000
Coming into operation
14th December 2000
The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 61(1) and 218(1) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981(), and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement and interpretation
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles (Amendment No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000 and shall come into operation on 14th December 2000.
(2) In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Public Service Vehicles Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985().
Amendments to regulation 6 (inspection of vehicle and grant of licence)
2. In sub-paragraph (5)(c) of regulation 6 of the principal Regulations, for “19th June 2000” there shall be substituted “1st August 1998”.

Explanatory Note
These Regulations amend the Public Service Vehicles Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985 so as to remove the requirement for installation checks for relevant seat belts, for vehicles for which a certificate of initial fitness has been issued on or after 1st August 1998.
