Part I N.I. Consequential modifications to the Welfare of Animals (Slaughter or Killing) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996

1.  In regulation 2(1), before the definition of “animal” there shall be inserted the following definition— N.I.

““the Agency” means the Food Standards Agency,”;

2.  In each of the provisions specified in sub-paragraph (2), for “the Department”, wherever it occurs, there shall be substituted “the Agency, on behalf of the Department,”. N.I.

(2) The provisions referred to in sub-paragraph (1) are paragraphs 5(1) and (4), 8, 9(1), 10 and 11(1) of Schedule 1.

(3) In paragraphs 5(2) and 6(2) of Schedule 1, for “the Department” there shall be substituted “the Agency, acting on behalf of the Department,”.
