1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001 and shall come into operation on 2nd April 2001.
(2) In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999(1).
2. In regulation 21(10) of the principal Regulations, after “76/432” there shall be added “or 96/63”.
3. In regulation 22(2) of the principal Regulations, in paragraph (b), after “76/432” there shall be added “or 96/63”.
4. In regulation 54 of the principal Regulations, in paragraphs (4)(b) and (6), after “90/629” there shall be inserted “or 96/38”.
5.—(1) Regulation 55 of the principal Regulations shall be amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3).
(2) In paragraph (4), after “90/628” there shall be inserted “or 96/36”.
(3) In paragraph (11)—
(a)in sub-paragraph (i)(b) of the definition of “British Standard mark” for “or BS AU 202a” there shall be substituted “, BS AU 202a or BS AU 202b”; and
(b)in paragraph (ii) of the definition of “designated approval mark” for “and 44B” there shall be substituted “, 44B and 44C”.
6. Regulation 102 of the principal Regulations is hereby revoked.
7.—(1) Table 1 of Schedule 1 to the principal Regulations shall be amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3).
(2) After item 87 there shall be inserted the following items—
