Article 78 of the Employment Rights (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 requires an employer to allow time off during working hours, subject to the provisions of this Article, to an employee who is a member of a body specified in this Article.
This Order modifies Article 78 by adding a district policing partnership, established on the coming into force of certain provisions of the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2000, to the list of bodies whose members are covered by this Article. This Order comes into operation on 24th August 2003.
