This Order provides for the coming into operation on 19th April 2004 of sections 8 and 9 and the Schedule to the Carers and Direct Payments Act (Northern Ireland) 2002. Sections 8 and 9 make provision for the making of direct payments by HSS Trusts in lieu of services whereas the Schedule repeals previous legislation on direct payments.

Sections 8 and 9 make provision for the making of direct payments by HSS Trusts in lieu of services whereas the Schedule repeals previous legislation on direct payments.
The Order also designates 16th March 2004 as the appointed day for the purposes of making regulations under sections 8 and 9 of the Act.
