The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by Article 1(3), of the Criminal Justice (Northern Ireland) Order 2004(1), hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice (Northern Ireland) Order 2004 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2004.
2. Articles 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of the Criminal Justice (Northern Ireland) Order 2004 shall come into operation on 6 September 2004.
3. Articles 4 and 9 of the Criminal Justice (Northern Ireland) Order 2004 shall come into operation on 1st January 2005.

This Order commences Articles 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of the Criminal Justice (Northern Ireland) Order 2004 from 6th September 2004 and Article 4 and 9 from 1st January 2005.
The Articles amend the Police and Criminal Evidence (Northern Ireland) Order 1989.
