The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 66(1) and 218(1) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981(1) and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles (Conditions of Fitness, Equipment and Use) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2004 and shall come into operation on 1st November 2004.
Revocation
2.—(1) Regulation 46(14)(b) of, and Schedule 6 to, the Public Service Vehicles (Conditions of Fitness, Equipment and Use) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995(2) are hereby revoked.
(2) The Public Service Vehicles (Conditions of Fitness, Equipment and Use) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000(3) are hereby revoked.

Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Regulations.)
These Regulations amend the Public Service Vehicles (Conditions of Fitness, Equipment and Use) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995 (S.R. 1995 No. 447) (“the 1995 Regulations”) by revoking regulation 46(14)(b) of, and Schedule 6 to, the 1995 Regulations, which provide for a taxi fitted with a taximeter and licensed for public hire to display a plate.
Schedule 6 to the 1995 Regulations was substituted by the Public Service Vehicles (Conditions of Fitness, Equipment and Use) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000 (S.R. 2000 No. 136), which are also revoked by these Regulations.
