2.—(1) In these Regulations –
“Action Programme” has the same meaning as in Article 5 of Council Directive 91/676/EEC concerning the protection of waters against pollution caused by nitrates from agricultural sources [F1as amended from time to time] (1);
“the Departments” means the Department of the Environment and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development acting jointly;
“Northern Ireland” has the same meaning as in the Northern Ireland Act 1998 (c. 47);
“Regulations” means Regulations made under section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 (c. 68).
(2) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954(2) shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
