These Regulations amend the Foyle Area and Carlingford Area (Angling) Regulations 2001 by –omitting the definition of “angling for coarse fish” thus permitting a wider range of angling methods and equipment for coarse fishing (regulation 3(a));removing the restriction on the use of floats in the Carlingford Area (regulation 4);prohibiting the use of live fish as bait whilst angling in fresh water (regulation 5);providing that on any one day during the period 1st March to 31st May only 1 salmonid may be taken by rod and line and retained (regulation 6);removing the restriction on the number and size of rainbow trout which may be taken by rod and line and retained (regulation 6); andintroducing restrictions on the number and size of pike which may be taken by rod and line and retained (regulations 3(b) and 6).
